LSV-5 was painted in a version of 31/18L in New York before 6/14/44. The camouflage was adapted and drawn by Cmdr. George C. Evans, the District Camouflage Officer at New York, the drawings were sent to Bureau of Ships on 5/23/44, but have not yet been found in the archives.
The vehicle landing ship USS Monitor (LSV-5) in a view of the starboard bow at New York on June 14, 1944 wearing camouflage 31/18L. The vertical colors should be dull black, ocean green, brown and haze green. Monitor was commissioned LSV-5 the sme day this photo was taken.
